Cancun's International Airport offers many  possibilities to get to Yucatan. You can take a car or taxi south from the airport. It's only  a 1 hour drive and the roads are improved and adequate. Another alternative is to take a bus from the airport.

Because of its length, Akumal is often referred to by the names given to stretches of the coast. The northernmost area of Akumal, for example, is called the Yal-Ku-Lagoon.  Heading south are Akumal,  South Akumal and Aventuras Akumal.  If you are traveling south on Highway 307 you will see signs for these turnoffs.
